Dental Crowns
Dental crowns offer protective properties for damaged or weaker teeth. Crowns protect and cover a tooth after extensive dental repairs like root canal treatments. Dental crowns also could be necessary to protect and cover teeth that have been chipped or cracked.
Before placing a crown, Dr. Frith prepares the affected tooth by reshaping it. A mold is created to ensure that the crown fits over the tooth and does not cause pain or discomfort. A temporary crown is applied to the tooth to protect it while the permanent crown is crafted. At a second appointment, Dr. Frith will cement the new crown in place. Once the permanent crown is placed, it should be brushed and cared for just like a natural tooth.
